Day One
We travel to our hotel enjoying a visit to the Peak District town of Bakewell.
EMDay Two
To Lincoln today and we start our visit at the top of steep hill, with a guided tour of the stunning Cathedral. You’ll then have free time to explore this lovely part of the city and mid afternoon your coach will take you to the bottom of town for a lovely sail along the river
B, EMDay Three
Today we visit lovely Newark on Trent and its market day, enjoy browsing the stalls and this lovely town before joining our sail with Afternoon tea Included. Leaving early afternoon, we head to the International Bomber Command Centre. This world-class facility acknowledging the efforts, sacrifices and commitment of the men and women, from 62 different nations, who came together in Bomber Command during WWII.
B, EM, ATDay Four
We dedicate our day to Bomber County today, starting our day with a tour at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Centre, based at RAF Coningsby, your fascinating tour includes the Hangar with historic aircraft such as Spitfires & hurricanes. This afternoon we visit the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre to see the legendary Lancaster Bomber 'Just Jane'. This family run museum was set up over 20 years ago and is now widely seen as a living memorial to the 55,500 men of Bomber Command who lost their lives during WW2. It holds one of the rarest
aircraft, an Avro Lancaster Bomber, in its collection along with many wartime vehicles including a Ford WOT1 Crew Bus, the only one of its kind known in existence
Day Five
Returning home we visit Chesterfield with its crooked spire en-route.
