This wonderful holiday showcases an underrated corner of England - the delightful County of Suffolk. We’ll take in picturesque villages, England’s oldest City, one of our most recognisable painted scenes, stay in a bustling Market Town, here the history of Horseracing and head out of Suffolk to visit the impressive City of Cambridge.

Day One
We travel to our hotel in Bury St Edmunds.
EMDay Two
Our first stop is said to be England’s best preserved Medieval village with timber framed buildings lining the streets and lanes that lead to the market place. From here we travel through Constable Country to Flatford Mill – the site of the artist’s most famous painting. We have a short guided tour before heading off to England’s oldest City – Colchester where we spend the afternoon in this Roman City
B, EMDay Three
We have a relaxing day around lovely Bury St Edmunds, its market day today and a visit to Suffolk’s only Cathedral or maybe the Greene King Brewery may be of interest. Be sure to head to the Angel Inn, which was frequented by Charles Dickens on his visits to the area.
B, EMDay Four
A morning visit to Newmarket – the home of horseracing, we have included a tour of Palace House – The National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art, situated in Charles II’s sporting palace and stables and spans five acres in the heart of Newmarket. Here you’ll find, a new National Horseracing Museum, a National Art Gallery of British Sporting Art, and a chance to meet former racehorses and learn what they do after racing. Following our visit here we head to the lovely University City of Cambridge to spend the afternoon.

We head for home, with a visit to the lovely Cathedral City of Ely en-route
